Orion E16X Review. We just picked up the new 2024 model E16X Electric Balance Bike from Orion. This little shred machine boasts a 36v, 8Ah battery to power the 350-watt brushless hub motor for an impressive 4 hours of ride time.

The E16X has three-speed levels to facilitate safe progression as well as a race mode to access full power. Stopping with ease using the premium Shimano front and rear full hydraulic disc brakes.

Orion E16X Electric Balance Bike – Unboxing and First Impressions

Right out of the box, I was so impressed by this bike. All the components look and feel like they’re premium quality. I was not expecting front shocks and front brakes as the product images and description did not show this. There was no disappointment whatsoever.

Assembly

Assembling the Orion E16X is relatively easy following the included instruction manual. The hardest part was installing the footpegs as compressing the spring to line up the pint is a little tricky. Other than that I had the bike ready to ride in less than 30 minutes.

Things I Like About The Orion E16X

Long Run Time

When looking for a little e-bike one of the must-haves was a long ride time. The advertised 4-hour run time is the real deal.

Brushless Hub Motor

Having a Brushless Hub Motor means fewer moving parts. This translates to less maintenance, less noise, and less chance of unexpected failure.

From And Rear Full Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Full Hydraulic Disc Brakes make it easy for little hands to apply the brakes. However, I am considering removing the front brake components to eliminate confusion and prevent any front wheel lockups while learning.

Carbon Fiber Look Skid Plate

I love the look of the Skid Plate mounted on the bottom side of this bike. Well-designed to protect the battery and controller access, it has a faux carbon fiber finish that looks 😙👌

Stride Mode and Speed Control

Being able to turn off the instant throttle response is a great way to safely progress.

Charging

Charging is easy using the included 2 amp charger. The charger port is located on the battery housing. Charge time is 120 minutes.

How Fast Does It Go

Fast! 28mph in Race Mode. This little bike is no joke. It shreds! So much so that there was some hesitation from our little ripper. Having the gear speed selection is a great way to progress making it safer for new riders to get comfortable with the bike.

Will It float?

I wanted a way for my youngest son to be able to come along with us on our adventures. The Orion E16X is the ultimate long-distance adventure bike for young riders and a fun way for little grooms to shred!
