3Dway Concave Bumpers For Onewheel Pint
3Dway has some unique and nicely crafted Onewheel accessories worth a look, one of which is their Onewheel Pint concave bumpers. These easy to install, Concave Bumpers help with both problems by adding concave and increasing footpad size.
Are 3Dway Concave Bumpers Worth A Try?
I have been intrigued by 3dway’s concave bumpers since I came across their Etsy store a little while back. One of the main things that drew my attention was the price, front and back concave for less than $100, I was sold. After seeing the quality of 3Dway’s Pint Split Fender, I had to check out the bumpers first hand.
Installs On Top Of Grip Tape
The 3Dway concave bumpers are designed to go directly over the existing grip tape. But, because we will be installing traction pads, we removed our Onewheel Pint’s grip tape before installing the bumpers.
No Sensor Interference
With the grip tape gone, you can see how the concave bumpers wrap the footpad without touching the sensor.
Easy, Two Screw Install
When it comes to Onewheel Concave solutions, the Install is as easy as it gets. Just two screws and a piece of VHB tape hold the bumpers securely in place. Follow the instructions and use the included tool and hardware. Be careful not to overtighten or you can damage the concave bumper.
Traction Pad Compatible
There is no pre-cut traction pad compatible with these Bumpers, even so, adding traction pads is very easy and does not interfere with the sensors. See our simple DIY Traction Pad Install (coming Soon)
But How Does It Ride?
My initial thoughts were that of frustration, as the concave edges caused my foot to hold off the sensor a bit hindering sensor activation. But with some use and adjustment of foot placement, I really started to enjoy the added control and comfort. I found, by having the ball of my front foot over the center of the pad aided in sensor activation as well as helping with board control. The improvements in board control are instantly noticeable, my foot sinks into the “pocket” instead of just sitting on top of the footpad. Another thing I love is how good this new concave, traction pad combo feels when riding barefoot, it has a true surf feel. I am very impressed.
