My Past Experience With Defunc Earbuds

Headphones and earbuds need to fit properly to allow for a comfortable user experience. In the past, I had tried several different earbud styles but I always found them uncomfortable. That changed when I found Defunc personal audio products.

True Go – True Slim – True Plus

I was looking for a set of cheap, sweat/splash-proof corded earbuds to use with my waterproof iPod Nano while Kiteboarding when I came across the Defunc Plus Sport. I used these Kiteboarding freshwater lakes in Alberta. The sport-style ear tip helps keep the earbud in place through even the hardest slams! Even though they say water-resistant, they are still working years later even with countless dunks in the water.

After finding a good fit with the wired sport model, I decided to try out the Bluetooth version. These were a little annoying because the ear tips would always fall off. At one point I even tried to superglue the tips on. I’m pretty sure I used these for almost one year before I forgot them in my pocket and they went through the washing machine 😭

Defunc TRUE GO model

I was wanting a set of Apple AirPods but couldn’t bring myself to pay the exorbitant price tag. Then after looking at different wireless earbuds I kept coming back to the Defunc True Go. I had a great experience using Defunc True Go earbuds. Again, the only reason I replaced them was due to complacency. I misplaced them and used that as an excuse to upgrade to the Defunc True Plus😜🤙

For the longest time, my wife continued to use the included iPhone corded earbuds. I watched her struggle with not being able to charge while listening 😖 I decided to gift her a set of Defunc True Go Slims for Valentine’s Day. They even come in pink to fit the occasion ❤️. Three months in and she questions why she stayed corded for so long?

Defunc True Plus Review- Go vs Plus vs Slim – Easily Noticed Differences – Pros Cons

Having owned several iterations of Defunc earbuds, I have noticed small differences and improvements between each model. My main gripe with the Go model was not being able to use the sport tips. While they are still secure in my ears, they are not as secure as the Plus. The Plus has finer tuning for sound level control. The Plus model has a new barbed design that keeps the tip secure on the earbud assembly.

How They Fit

While fit is subjective and very personal. The fit is the main reason I keep coming back to the Defunc brand of earbuds. They fit super comfortable, so much so that I can wear them all day, no problem, and often even forget that I am wearing them.

Defunc True Plus Sound Quality

The sound quality is great. Obviously, they don’t compare to the bangin bass I get from my pair of Crusher Wireless Headphones, but really, no earbuds can.

Are The Defunc True Plus Good For Intense Activities

The sport ear tips of the Defunc True Plus help to keep the earbuds locked in. I have never had them fall out. Unlike my True Go’s, which had an unfortunate dunk into a place that will remain unnamed. FYI they still work😂

Battery Life

This is where the Defunc True Plus really shines. With 6 hours of active playtime and up to 35 hours with the charging case. A once a week charge is all I seem to need to stay rocking when I’m rolling on my Onewheel. Defunc True Plus Review

Would I Buy Defunc Headphones Again? YES!

Without a doubt, the Defunc TRUE PLUS is the best true wireless earbuds I have had the pleasure of using. I have noticed small incremental improvements over the different incarnations of Defunc products. I am still happy and will continue using their products.
