Jackrabbit XG Micro eBike
We were looking for a small e-bike that takes minimal space to make it easy to take on van adventures. We needed it to be small and lightweight while having decent power and range. As well as being built solid. Jackrabbit nails it with the XG, ticking all those boxes. Keep reading to learn more about the Jackrabbit XG
Why Jackrabbit XG?
Differences
Before the release of the Jackrabbit XG, I seriously considered getting the OG. I was hesitant due to the weird geometry, 300-watt motor, and smaller battery size. By increasing the motor to 500 watts and upping the battery size the difference between JackRabbit OG and XG has eliminated all of my hesitancy.
Top Speed
To comply with federal regulations on e-bike speed limits, the JackRabbit XG has its speed restricted, topping out at 20mph or 32km/h.
Range
Jackrabbit lists the range of the XG at 20-plus miles. The real-world range is going to be less, with rider weight, the terrain you ride on as well as tire pressure all being a factor.
Weight
The weight of the bike is minimal. The lightweight 32 lbs makes it easy to carry and maneuver.
Tire Size
The stock 20” x 2.5” tires are all-terrain semi-fat. It is wider than your typical BMX tire but not nearly as wide as the fat tires you see on other e-bikes. This smaller size is great for the total cost of ownership as you are not forced to buy expensive fat tires when it is time to replace them.

Things that caught my eye and impressed me right out of the box.
- Toolless Setup. Other than snipping a few straps. The bike is ready to go almost right away. Slot the handlebars into place and away you go.
- Quality Build. All the components seem to be solid and well-built. The manufacturer takes pride in the fact that they don’t use proprietary sizing.

Unboxing and Testing the Jackrabbit XG – Video
The Customer Experience
I purchased this bike through Eevees out of Vancouver, I had the purchase keyed up in the cart when I decided to give Eevee’s a call to see if they had any promotions or discounts available. While they didn’t have any sales at the time, they did offer to include a cellphone holder which I happily accepted. This freebie and the additional swag provided made for a great customer experience.
The Swag
It’s always a nice surprise to open a box and see a little extra stuff from the store or manufacturer. Both Jackrabbit and Eevees included some swag to make my purchase memorable. Stickers, pins, valve caps, and a trucker cap. Very nice!
The Look
The OG looked a little weird, but The new BMX styling of the XG will win over a lot of people, including myself. This thing looks tough. Throw on a set of BMX bars and you’ll have the coolest-looking ride in your neighborhood.
The Function
This bike puts the fun in function. Every time I get on it I get a grin from ear to ear. The lightweight stature of this bike makes it easy to throw around. Being pedal-less makes it feel MX without the noise, it will be the quietest pit bike at the track.
Will it Float?
This ultra-lightweight and portable scooter bicycle hybrid is decently powered making it a big time shredder! It comes in second place for the ultimate campsite vehicle (behind a Onewheel 😜) and will come with us on many Vanlife adventures.
