First of all, I want to send a big thank you to Kenny at 3DWAY and Floatershack.com for sending me this set of Wedge Pro Fenders to try out. So… full disclosure, while I wasn’t paid or even asked to write this article, I was sent the product for free.

Now, with that being said, let’s get into the fun stuff!

What Is The Wedge Pro From 3DWAY?

From The Manufacturer: “The Wedge Pro is the first-ever unibody fender that you can grip with your feet to help get some extra height on your bonks.”

“The Wedge Pro gives you the sense of being locked in when trail riding without anything actually folding over your foot.”

The model featured is the XR version but they are also available for Pint too. The XR wedge pros are compatible with or without fender delete, and also compatible with WTF and Growler rails without any modification required.

Opening The Box

Inside the box, I found two pieces, one piece for each side. Also included for riders who run fender deletes on their Onewheel are four small spacers. Some mounting screws and a rail plug.

Wedge Pro – First Look and Initial Thoughts

Nudge assist: I have struggled to master the curb nudge. Mainly due to a fear of damaging my boards. (Component failure from repeated impacts) Could this be the accessory I need to help me nudge up curbs?
Less Debris: The terrain I ride is normally either wet and rainy or dry and dusty. Because of this I almost exclusively ride with a fender. I am very curious to see how much debris is deflected from my legs, feet, and Footpads.
New Name – Boar Tusks?: I mean, Wedge Pro is a good name, but the first thing that came to my mind was Boar Tusks. What do you think, Kenny, change the name?🤣
Rail Threads: A common problem with FlightFins is the regular stripping of Rail Threads. Obviously, the stresses on the WP won’t be near as much as with FlightFins, something to be wary of… maybe?

How To Install The Wedge Pro On Your Onewheel

Included in the box are some quarter-circle spacers, these fit nicely to make up space when you are not using fender deletes. I found, after partially installing one screw, I had to maneuver the other hole into line with a slight bit of force. Not hard at all. And installed, it looks 😙👌

To quote my seven-year-old son… ”Those are awesome” “Why does your Onewheel always get the cool stuff?” Haha 😂

How To Use The Wedge Pro

I naturally place my rear foot close to the fender. Because of this I instantly felt the WP lock my foot into place. A push forward with the rear foot gives the nudge needed to easily (somewhat) climb up higher obstacles than I was previously able to. One of the best things I find with the WP is the way it cradles the inside of your foot giving you more control and a serious locked-in feel. You now have another point of contact and extra leverage to maneuver and throw the board around.

Will It Float – Wedge Pro Fender From 3Dway

While it won’t instantly give you the ability to nudge and bonk like Bodhi, but it will give you a more locked-in feeling and a definite “wedge” against your competition.

So to summarize, the Wedge Pro is not just for Bonkers and Nudgers but any Onewheel rider looking for more control over their ride. Love it!
